  • TL;DR A new partnership is changing the way Sydney office workers get from A to B.

  • So what? If you work in Sydney Place’s Salesforce Tower, soon you might just be driving a Tesla.

Leading property and infrastructure company Lendlease has partnered with Outbound, a transportation solutions provider, to introduce an innovative car share service at Sydney Place's Salesforce Tower.
As part of Lendlease’s newly launched Electric Car Club, Salesforce Tower tenants will have exclusive access to Tesla Model 3s. The three EV’s are Outbound's largest deployment to date and its first commercial building partnership.
“The Electric Car Club is set to enhance the excellent connectivity of the Sydney Place precinct and extend the state-of-the-art amenity available to tenants,” says Steve McGillivray, Project Director, Lendlease.

“By providing an exclusive and environmentally conscious driving experience, we’re catering to the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions among businesses and individuals who value both luxury and environmental responsibility,” added Outbound CEO Luke Rust.

The shift to electric vehicles is a crucial step to the City of Sydney’s net-zero emissions goals.

Unlocking a seamless mode of transport for Sydney city workers

Through the Electric Car Club, tenants of Sydney’s tallest commercial tower can conveniently reserve, pay for, and access support for the Tesla vehicles using the Outbound app. Furthermore, they can unlock, lock, and even drive the vehicles through their smartphones. This seamless integration of technology within the physical environment ensures a premium and hassle-free experience for professionals working in Sydney's tallest commercial tower.

Andrew Ballantyne, the NSW Managing Director of JLL, emphasizes the transformative potential of the partnership. He views it as a premium electric vehicle solution that places “the customer at the centre of the new shared sustainability economy,” showcasing how companies can create social value through innovative real estate offerings.

Ballantyne cites JLL's recent global Future of Work Survey, revealing that “nearly 8 out of 10 companies reported their employees expect their workplaces to have a positive impact on society,” especially in terms of environmental and social aspirations.

Moving towards net-zero emissions

The partnership has also garnered praise from Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore. She commended the initiative for aligning with the City of Sydney's goal of achieving net-zero emissions in the local area by 2035. Given that approximately 20 percent of emissions in the area are attributed to transport, the transition to electric vehicles plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions.

Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore commended the partnership, highlighting the initiative as an innovative move to the City of Sydney’s 2035 local area net-zero emissions goal. “Given transport accounts for around 20 per cent of total emissions in our area, a shift to electric vehicles is an important part of our goal to hit net zero.”

Located within Lendlease’s Sydney Place precinct at Circular Quay, the development is is home to anchor tenant Salesforce, in addition to Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), Tourism Australia, Greenhouse by Investible, The Executive Centre, Wellington Management and more. Salesforce Tower is now 90 per cent leased, with tenants continuing to move in throughout this year.
